Scott Seymour: From God as Judge to God as Love - “I am the consciousness that gets to experience my thoughts and feelings”

In the episode “From God as Judge to God as Love: I am the consciousness that gets to experience my thoughts and feelings,” of my What is God? podcast, we have a very special guest, Scott Seymour, and we talked about love and life experiences that ultimately connect us with God. As a nurse, coach, facilitator, and producer, he gives us diverse definitions of God—one could say as diverse as his field. We also discussed the Creator as the truest unconditional love and how seeing all things with this kind of love, a love so true and divine, will allow us to achieve a shift in perspective that will help us evolve in life, in our souls.

In the middle of our love-centered conversation, we were able to dabble on the notion that heaven is not some perfect place that lies beyond, but rather a place that exists within our souls. We continued our talk about the evolution of souls, and Scott was able to share a very enlightening tool that he uses in his coaching called the Drama Triangle that raises awareness and encourages taking responsibility for our experiences, which eventually allows us to rise from our limits and no longer be victims of our circumstances.

As we can talk for hours and hours about God as love, we went back to the idea of loving ourselves fully, and we both shared great references that will surely help our listeners. Scott recommended great books, worksheet, and even free webinars that will aid in starting a healthy relationship with oneself. He also appreciated the resources that I provide on my website, which serve as a lifeline and light for people who really need them.

We also delve into the truth surrounding acceptance, purpose, and spirituality. We examine the importance of accepting ourselves and our life circumstances, finding purpose in our experiences, and the personal meaning of spirituality that sets it apart from religion. Scott also mentioned Mother Mary and other female figures a few times, so we explored the divinity embodied in Her presence and the Divine creation within a woman.

Later in the episode, I shared a method of interpreting dreams as a means to gain insights into our lives. We also contemplated the idea that our waking experiences can be treated as dreams, allowing for a more profound interpretation. Additionally, I expressed my enthusiasm for engaging with breathwork facilitators. Scott, as a breathwork coach, shared a heartwarming concept—our breaths as prayers, the very breaths that connect us with God. This resonates with my belief that the sound of our breath resembles the Hebrew name of God. Every breath we take is a kiss of life, a beautiful connection we have with God for as long as we live.
