Mayer Malik: What and Where is God and What Does It Have To Do with Us?
In the episode “What and Where is God and What Does It Have To Do with Us?” of my What is God? podcast, we ask what precisely is God? Our guest, mystic and musician Mayer Malik, explores the identity of God as the singular Creator, the God revered by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
We delve into the idea of "existential clarity", where my responses faced scrutiny! We expand on the idea that receiving the Torah fosters relationships.
We delve into the inquiry, "Where is God?" Merely posing this question implies, "Where isn't the Creator?" Perhaps the essence lies in embracing the question itself.
The subsequent segment leads us to ponder, “What does it have to do with me?” This is where it becomes deeply personal. If one aligns their identity and purpose, where do spirituality and God intersect?
We explore the concept of 'evil'. A notion upheld by some, we discuss how everything and everyone ultimately serve God, suggesting that God isn't engaged in a battle against the devil as commonly believed.
We reflect into the notion of continuing to ask questions and to be in the questions and to be in a relationship with the questions.
In the latter part of this episode, we discussed how any perception of the absence of God results from the density of the physical barriers obscuring the divine presence in individuals, places, or situations. The denser the barrier, the harder it becomes to perceive the divine. As one draws closer to the spiritual realm, their experience of divine presence becomes clearer.
You are deserving of blessings, and with awareness, you should be granted a vessel capable of holding the abundance of blessings coming your way.
May we persist in embracing questions and truly experience the profound clarity that arises from accepting the questions themselves.
