Jerold Limongelli: Uniting Faiths: A Christian & Jew's Spiritual Journey

In this episode "Uniting Faiths: A Christian & Jew's Spiritual Journey" of my "What is God?" podcast, Jerold Limongelli, a Christian, and I, with a Jewish background, discuss our personal experiences with God and spirituality. Our aim is to explore our unique perspectives on faith while finding common ground and understanding, despite our different religious backgrounds.

Jerold begins by sharing his personal understanding of God, emphasizing that God is both an encounter and an experience. This perspective was not always his belief; Jerold admits to having lived a shallow life without a sense of purpose, leading him on a journey to discover self-love.

Throughout the episode, we delve into various aspects of faith and spirituality, including the distinction between ownership and stewardship as viewed through the lens of scripture. We also discuss the concept of the Holy Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit - and whether these aspects of God are distinct or unified.

The discussion also touches upon the difference between light language and heavenly language. We explain that light language is associated with channeling demons, while heavenly language channels the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, both languages involve tapping into the spirit world, but the distinction lies in the source of the spiritual connection.

We further explore the concept of submission to God, acknowledging the sensitivity surrounding the term "submit," especially for women. We discuss the importance of a man leading his family well before expecting submission from his wife.

Jerold shares his personal transformation from a money-seeking individual to a follower of Christ, highlighting a significant event in his life - the miraculous recovery of his mother from alcoholism which was one of his daily prayers.

Finally, we address the controversial topic of living a Jewish/Christian culture without being religious. We reflect on how the world perceives and treats individuals based on their beliefs and cultural identities, and how these external pressures can impact our hearts and spiritual journeys.

Through this candid and open conversation, we hope to foster a deeper understanding of faith and spirituality in a modern context, bridging the gap between different religious backgrounds and beliefs.
